Gurugram based hair extension and wigs brand Hair Originals has raised around 30 Million (INR-3Cr) in angel investment from marquee investors post its appearance and funding in Shark Tank India. After achieving a series of international milestones and appearing in a business reality series “Shark Tank India”, Hair Originals not only received the funding at the show, but also immediately raised a pre-seed round. Expanding its business from a global B2B model, Hair Originals has now launched their D2C online platform; the funding is being channeled towards AR technologies for real-time product experience before purchase, workforce expansion and other back-end developments.

Hair Originals line of products are made from ethically acquired human hair, while empowering women from various cities of India who work in this segment. They have exhibited their products in various international events and have exported across 22 countries as well as in the top luxury salons of US , Europe and Africa. At the World Hair Congress in France their products were positioned in the luxury segment and received positive remarks by fashion critics; one of France’s renowned celebrity stylist Eric Maurice came on board to be their brand ambassador.

Talking about the journey of Hair Originals and the endeavors ahead Mr Jitendra Sharma mentioned that, “After graduating from IIT, I started my career with French Oil Majors and worked across more than 40 countries, it was during this global exposure I realized that the human hair extension and wig segment is a huge global market with India as the epicenter of high-quality and ethical sourced hair. The main efforts then went into science based research and market analysis. “The overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers across the globe and support from the investors became the driving force in the expansion. With the launch of our D2C platform our goal is to make our premium products affordable for everyone by cutting the middleman cost. In the upcoming 2 to 2.5 years our aim is to achieve a target of 100 Cr ARR.” he further added.
