Made from inherently Indian botanicals, Stranger & Sons Gin, the debut spirit from Third Eye Distillery, captures the essence of contemporary India in every bottle for a curious and discerning consumer. With Gin going through an extremely exciting phase and transcending into the mainstream in India, participating in world competitions has enabled the brand to connect with a global audience and achieve its ultimate goal of putting quality spirits from India on the world stage!

Stranger & Sons created history in 2020 as the first Indian Gin to be awarded a Gold-outstanding Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, one of the only 8 gins in the world to receive this award out of 800 brands that participated. The brand has been on a winning streak ever since starting with multiple Gold medals in 2021 at The Drinks Business & The Spirits Business Spring Tasting and The Drinks Business Asia Summer Tasting to a handful of Silver medals as well at the London Spirits Competition 2021 and San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2021.

Stranger & Sons also went on to win the highest honours at The Asian Spirits Masters 2021 – a Master medal. “The palate is wonderful – smooth and silky mouthfeel with no sharp edges or volatile alcohol”, said one of the judges, Bryan Rodriguez, wine and spirits buyer for Harvey Nichols. The judges were captivated by the aromas and tasting notes of “sweet spices, ginger and light citrus fruit peels” delivered by the spirit.

Stranger & Sons also showcased India’s spirit at the Gin Masters 2021 which was well represented and quite competitive with 472 entries from 233 different companies (more than double in size compared to 2020). The judges were enamoured with the gin’s aromas of “earthy juniper” and flavours of “dried citrus peel” and “bold, vibrant” character on the palate and Stranger & Sons secured a coveted Gold medal! The judges were convinced that it offered something “unique” to the gin world and that it would “stand up well mixed in a gin and tonic”.

Described as “bold and delicious” at various competitions, it further reinforced how Stranger & Sons was conceptualized by carefully selecting inherently Indian botanicals that best represent India’s diversity in order to create a spirit that celebrates the country’s agricultural history in a way no other spirit can. The unique citrus peel mix of Gondhoraj Limes, Indian Bergamot, Nimbu (Indian Limes) & Nagpur Oranges, representing different parts of the country, gives the gin a beautiful freshness on the front palate. The local pepper, coriander and mace gives it a strong spiced middle while liquorice, cassia and nutmeg gives it a lovely, warm sweet finish.

Speaking on the multiple wins this year– Sakshi Saigal, Co-founder & Director of Third Eye Distillery had this to add, “We are quite humbled by the international recognition our brand has received so far and it’s overall been a phenomenal experience for the team! Each win for us further solidifies our efforts in bringing a spirit from India on the global map.”
