Vijay Pravin Maharajan is the founder and CEO of bitsCrunch, a startup based in Germany and India. The company was launched in May 2020 in India, then later established in Germany in 2021. Vijay who is a Blockchain/NFT expert, sees tremendous growth in these new areas requiring cutting edge technologies.

NFTs are becoming the most prominent developments in the cryptocurrency industry. The first generation of NFTs concentrated on vital features such as ownership representation, transfer, and automation, as well as establishing the NFT market infrastructure’s fundamental building blocks.

NFTs’ value proposition will shift from stationary images or text toward more dynamic, intelligent collectibles. Artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to play a role in the future generation of NFTs. The NFT market’s excitement makes it difficult to discern between signal and noise. The development of NFT using AI is being seen in the form of generative art. The potential for creating new applications held by this technology is enormous. Introducing AI capabilities into the lifespan of NFTs opens the door to hitherto unseen types of intelligent ownership.

The use of ownership representations extends well beyond collectibles. Real-world asset ownership is static and involves a long protocol-based process, whereas ownership of digital assets on the blockchain may be programmable, modular, and, of course, intelligent. The possibilities are boundless with intelligent digital ownership. There are many possibilities for such applications. A few are illustrated below:

  • Consider digital-art NFTs that might talk in a normal conversible language, capable of answering inquiries about what sort of an inspiration led to creating such art forms and adapting their responses to the discussion setting.
  • We may even imagine NFTs that adjust to the user’s sensations and moods, providing a consistently satisfying experience.
  • Another important possibility of an application is through intelligent NFT wallets that, when interacting with a website, select which ownership rights to display to optimize a user’s experience?

Currently, NFTs are identified as digital formats such as images, videos, texts etc. Using different AI sub-disciplines such as physics, biology, engineering, and finance, each paradigm is mapped well to its representation.

NFTs are being explored in the fields of language, vision, and speech by integrating AI with NFTs.  As the potential of the technology is explored, innumerable applications can be devised in the future which can lead to further invention and advancement. Right now, there are three main hotspot categories in which the NFT ecosystem can be redesigned by incorporating AI values. They are:

  • AI-generated NFTs
  • NFTs embedded with AI
  • AI-first NFT infrastructures.

All software products, including the current generation NFTs, are evolving and taking a new form as a result of including artificial intelligence. NFTs now have the capability to expand from simple ownership primitives to allowing users to have enriched digital experiences. The focus is not just to improve the UX but also to provide enhanced value for NFT creators and consumers, leveraging AI.

More futuristic technological breakthroughs are hoped to be seen in the age of intelligent NFTs. Recent advances in computer vision, natural language understanding, and speech analysis, combined with the adaptability of NFT technologies, have paved the way for a fertile ground for experimentation in bringing intelligence to the NFT ecosystem.

NFTs are going through an exciting time. In the first place, NFT platforms such as OpenSea pose a threat to centralization. In addition, the real market for NFTs might be based more on rights than speculation as we see it today. NFTs need credibility — a tangible benefit — to become mainstream. NFTs and advancements will continue to advance in the coming years, regardless of whether the speculation surrounding them continues or not.
